The Hon. Sim von Kalinowski is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 21, 2008, filling a vacancy created by the conversion of a court commissioner position.
Von Kalinowski earned a B.A. from the University of the Pacific in 1977. He then continued his studies at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he received a J.D. in 1980.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, von Kalinowski served as a deputy city attorney in the Office of the City Attorney of San Diego from 1981 to 2008.
He is registered as a Republican.
