The Hon. Scott N. Barrett is a judge for the General Division of the Hardin County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Kasich on March 25, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William D. Hart.
Barrett earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University. He then completed a J.D. at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law. He was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1976.
After graduating from law school, Barrett entered into private practice. He started as an associate at the Roof Law Office, rising through the ranks to become a named partner at the Roof and Barrett Law Office in 1988.
His memberships have included the Ohio State Bar Foundation, the Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association, the Ohio Domestic Relations Judges Association, the Ohio Judicial Conference, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Hardin County Bar Association (president).
He is registered as a Republican.
