The Hon. Samuel J. Slom (Ret.) served as a judge for the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida. Slom was appointed to the bench by former Governor Lawton Chiles in 1996. He retired on October 31, 2019.
Slom earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at St. Thomas University College of Law in 1987.
After graduating from law school, Slom began his legal career as an assistant state attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. He served in that capacity until his appointment to the bench.
