Hon. Salvia Smith Fox is an associate judge for the Clayton County Juvenile Court in Georgia. She was appointed to the bench by the Clayton County Superior Court judges in 2021.
Smith Fox has also presided as a part-time judge for the Clayton County Magistrate Court.
She received a B.A. in English and political science from Spelman College. Smith Fox went on to complete a J.D.at the University of Georgia School of Law. While a law student, she worked for the Athens Public Defender’s Office, was an intern for the Georgia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and worked in The Office of Counsel for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Multifamily Division.
After graduating from law school, Smith Fox began her legal career in private practice. She first started as an attorney in a small firm before opening her own private practice in the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was at that time, Smith Fox became the managing partner at Smith & Brown, LLC. Her areas of practice have included criminal defense, family law, and civil matters.
Her memberships have included the Clayton County Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the State Bar of Georgia (Family Law Section).
From a civic standpoint, Smith Fox has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
In addition, she has served as a Georgia High School Mock Trial attorney coach and a mock trial coach for North Clayton High School.
Smith Fox is a married mother of three sons. In her free time, she enjoys serving as a mentor to local youth, going to concerts, and traveling. She was born and raised in Bolingbrook, Illinois, but later moved to Georgia. Smith Fox is a graduate of North Clayton High School.
