The Hon. S. Sue Robbins was a judge for the 5th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Robbins was named to the bench in 2002. She retired on October 31, 2021.
The 5th Judicial Circuit encompasses Citrus County, Hernando County, Lake County, Marion County, and Sumter County. Over the course of her judicial career, Robbins held assignments in the Juvenile Dependency and the Juvenile Delinquency Divisions. She also holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve as Chief Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit.
Prior to her appointment, Robbins was a judge for the Marion County Court, a position to which she was named in 2000.
Robbins received a B.A. from the University of Central Arkansas in 1974. She went on to earn a J.D. from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1980.
After graduating from law school, Robbins relocated to Florida. She entered into private practice, working as an associate at Cross & Robbins.
Her memberships have included the 5th Judicial Circuit's Professionalism Committee. She has also been involved with the D. R. Smith American Inns of Court.
