The Hon. Ross C. Moody is a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was appointed by former governor Jerry Brown on March 27, 2015, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Julie Tang.
Moody earned a B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then received a J.D. from the University of California, Davis.
Moody worked as a litigation associate at Pillsbury, Madison, and Sutro from 1989 to 1994. He then joined the Office of the Attorney General of the State of California. As a deputy attorney general, Moody was first assigned to the Appeals, Writs and Trials Section of the Criminal Division. Then, in 2007, he transferred to the Government Law Section of the Civil Division.
Moody is registered as a Democrat.
