The Honorable Robin Miller Sloan

The Hon. Robin Miller Sloan is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis in 2003. She filled the vacancy created by the Hon. R. Gary Klausner's appointment to the Federal Court.

Judge Miller Sloan received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1986.

Miller Sloan joined the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office in 1988 as a deputy city attorney. She left the City Attorney's office in 1991 to join the California Attorney General's Office as a deputy attorney general. During her twelve years as a deputy attorney general, Miller Sloan was assigned to the Correctional Law, Criminal Appeals, and the Health, Education, and Welfare sections of the A.G.'s office.

During her time on the Superior Court, she presided over the Pasadena and Eastlake Juvenile Courts.

Judge Miller Sloan is the third generation in her family to serve as a judge for the Los Angeles Court. Her father, Loren Miller, Jr. was a judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court, and her grandfather, Loren Miller served as a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge.

She served as a keynote speaker at a civil rights symposium honoring her grandfather hosted by the Oviatt Library in 2019.
