The Hon. Roberto Longoria is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown in 2011. The vacancy was created by the appointment of Hon. John A. Kronstadt to the U.S. District Court.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Longoria received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1990.
Longoria joined the Orange County Public Defender's Office in 1992 where he served as a trial attorney until 1994. He then joined the Los Angeles County Public Defender as a senior trial attorney. In 2006, after twelve years with the Public Defender's office, Longoria entered into private practice. He remained in private practice until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2011.
