The Hon. Robert S. Wada is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2017 by former governor Jerry Brown.
He is registered without party preference.
Judge Wada received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from Western State College of Law in 1980.
After graduating from law school, Wada became an associate for the Law Office of Rick J. Fenelli LLP from 1982 to 1983 and again from1985 to 1987. He also worked as an associate at the law firms of F. Gordon Chytraus Inc. from 1983 to 1984, and Aarons and Aarons Inc. from 1984 to 1985. Wada entered into solo practice in 1985 and would remain there until 1997.
Wada became a probate attorney for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 1997, where served until becoming a court commissioner in 2008.
As court commissioner, Wada presided over a probate civil calendar in the Norwalk courthouse. Then, in 2011, he stepped down from the bench to serve as a supervising probate attorney for the court. Wada served in that capacity until 2016 when he would again become a court commissioner. He held that position until his appointment to the bench in 2017.
During his time on the Superior Court, Judge Wada presided over the Probate Department at the Stanley Mosk courthouse.
