The Hon. Robert S. Harrison is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown in 2017. He filled the vacancy created by Jeffrey K. Winikow's resignation.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Harrison received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1984.
After graduating from law school, Harrison became an associate at the law firm of Saltzburg, Ray, and Bergman, LLP. After practicing for the firm for ten years, he became a partner for the law firm Harrison and Harrison in 1994. During his time with the firm, he also served as a part-time hearing officer for the Los Angeles Police Department's Board of Rights. He left both positions in 2006 when he became a court commissioner for the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He was serving in that capacity at the time of his appointment to the bench in 2017.
During his time on the Superior Court, Judge Harrison taught a class on what to expect in a courtroom for the L.A. Law Library.
