Judge Robert Ramirez III - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Robert Ramirez, III is a judge for the County Court at Law No. 2 in Denton County, Texas. He was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022.

Ramirez earned a B.B.A. in management from St. Mary's University in 1994. He then completed an M.B.A. in business and public policy from Texas A&M University (1998) as well as a J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law (2001). As a law student, Ramirez clerked at Jackson Walker (2000).

After graduating from law school, Ramirez entered into private practice, working as an associate at Jones Day. He remained with the firm until 2002, at which time he became general counsel at Victory Management Services, a position he held until 2010. During this time, he also worked as a managing attorney at Coorpender & Ramirez Attorneys. While in private practice, Ramirez specialized in litigation and collaborative counseling for family law and business formation matters.

His memberships have included the Denton County Republican Party, the Denton County Republican Club, and the Flower Mound Area Republican Club. Ramirez has served on the Board of Directors of PediPlace, the Board of Trustees for the Denton County Baptist Association, and the Board of Directors of the Denton County Children's Advocacy Center.

He is registered as a Republican and identifies as a principled conservative.
