Biography

The Hon. Robert Lynn Tamietti is a judge for the Nevada County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Gray Davis in 2003. He filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. M. Kathleen Butz to the Third District Court of Appeal.

Judge Tamietti received his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. He also graduated with his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law.

Prior to becoming a judge for the Nevada County Superior Court, Tamietti spent his entire legal career in private practice, where he served as a business litigator and transactional lawyer.

He also served as a judge pro tem for the Nevada and Placer County Superior Courts.

During his time on the Superior Court, Judge Tamietti has presided over all criminal, civil and family law matters at the Truckee Courthouse.

His memberships have included the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association, the Nevada County Bar Association, and past-president of the Tahoe Truckee Bar.
