Hon. Robert L. Mack is a judge for the Clayton County Superior Court in Georgia. He was elected to the bench in 2016 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Deborah Benefield (Ret.).
Prior to his election, Mack was the majority owner and managing partner of Mack & Harris in Forest Park. During his tenure in private practice, he represented clients in both civil and criminal matters. Mack was admitted to appear before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Southern Technical Institute in 1979. Mack then spent time as an engineer for Southern Bell before completing a J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law in 1993.
His memberships have included the American Bar Association, the Clayton County Bar Association, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
From a civic standpoint, Mack has been involved with the DuBois Integrity Academy, Inc. (Board of Directors) and the Truancy Intervention Project (volunteer attorney).
In addition, he began serving as a coach and advisor for the Mock Trial Team at North Clayton High School in 2002.
Mack received the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award and was named a Volunteer of the Year for the Truancy Intervention Project in 2015.
He and his wife, Rochelle, have three children. Mack and his wife are longtime residents of Jonesboro, Georgia.
