The Hon. Robert C. Gannon is a judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on May 16, 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Panela Iles.
Gannon attended the University of San Diego, where he earned a B.S. as well as a J.D.
Gannon began his legal career in 1975, working as an associate with the law offices of David J. Huarte. The following year he joined the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County as a deputy district attorney.
He left in 1979, briefly working as an attorney in his own private practice before serving as counsel for Fritz Duda Company in 1980.
Five years later he worked a short stint as counsel for Lee and Associates, eventually returning to the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County as an assistant district attorney in 1985. Then, in 2002, he moved to the Orange County Department of Child Support Services where he served as deputy department counsel for one year. He then became an assistant U.S. attorney for the United States Department of Justice, a position he held until his appointment to the bench.
He was a resident of Irvine, California at the time of his appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.
