The Hon. Robert C. Gannon (Ret.) served as a judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California. Gannon was appointed by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on May 16, 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Panela Iles. He retired from the bench in 2019.
Gannon earned a B.S. from the University of San Diego. He then completed a J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Gannon entered into private practice, working as an attorney at the Law Offices of David J. Huarte. One year later, he left the firm and joined the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County. He served as a deputy district attorney until 1979.
Gannon returned to private practice. He worked as a sole practitioner for one year before becoming counsel at Fritz Duda Company in 1980. Five years later, he performed a short stint as counsel for Lee and Associates, eventually returning to the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County as an assistant district attorney in 1985.
Then, in 2002, Gannon transferred to the Orange County Department of Child Support Services, where he served as deputy department counsel for one year. Soon after, he began serving as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the United States Department of Justice, a position he held until his appointment to the bench.
Gannon was a resident of Irvine, California at the time of his appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.
