The Hon. Robert Bo Bayer (Ret.) served as a judge for the Union County Court in the 8th Judicial Circuit of Florida. He was elected to the bench on November 6, 2012. Bayer retired in 2019 and became a senior judge for the Alachua County Court.
Prior to his election, he worked for sixteen years as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the 8th Judicial Circuit in Union County (1996 to 2012). During that time, he briefly held an assignment in Levy County (1996).
He also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
Bayer received a B.A. in social studies and education (1971), an M.A. in British history (1972), and an M.S. in guidance counseling (1985) from Southeast Missouri State University. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1994.
