The Hon. Richard A. Adler (Ret.) served as a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. Adler was initially elected to the Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1980. He was subsequently elevated to the Superior Court, a position to which he was elected in 1984.
Adler earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then completed a J.D. at Loyola Law School.
After graduating from law school, Adler began his legal career as in-house counsel for Glendale Federal Savings. He later joined the Office of the District Attorney in Los Angeles, where he served as a deputy district attorney handling misdemeanor, felony, juvenile, and sexual assault matters.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Adler was an only child. His father worked as a general building contractor on the Westside while his mother worked as a homemaker. In his spare time, he enjoys reading about history and training for marathons.
