The Hon. Renee C. Day is a judge for the Amador County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2015. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Susan C. Harlan (Ret.).
She is registered without party preference.
Judge Day received her B.S. from California State University, San Bernardino. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Day had worked as a court commissioner for Amador County since 2014.
Before being selected to serve as a court commissioner, Day spent her entire legal career in private practice. She began her legal career as an associate at the law firms of Bohn and Bohn from 2002 to 2006, with Hoover and Bechtel from 2006 to 2008, and with the Law Offices of C. Michael Finen from 2008 to 2010. She also served in solo practice at her own law firm from 2010 to 2013. Her areas of practice included personal injury, product liability, employment, insurance bad faith, and elder abuse matters. She also practiced family law, specializing in high conflict custody and complex property matters.
During her time on the bench, Judge Day has served as the Assistant Presiding Judge of the Court.
