The Hon. R. Scott Krichbaum is a judge for the General Division of the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He was initially elected to the bench on November 6, 1990.
Over the course of his judicial career, Krichbaum held assignments on the Supreme Court of Ohio Board of Bar Examiners, the Ohio Courts Futures Commission, the Ohio Judicial Ethics Committee, and the Ohio Judicial Conference.
Krichbaum earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University in 1975. He spent the next several years working as a bailiff for the Hon. Clyde Osborne of the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas before completing a J.D. at the University of Akron School of Law in 1979.
After graduating from law school, Krichbaum entered into private practice as a criminal defense attorney in Youngstown. During this time, he also served as a special assistant prosecuting attorney for the North Meridian Road Appropriations Project.
His memberships have included the Mahoning County Bar Association (president). He also sat on the Board of Trustees of the Community Corrections Association as well as the Mahoning County Board of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities and the Mahoning County Corrections Planning Board.
He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Mahoning County Bar Association (2005).
Krichbaum was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio.
He is registered as a Republican.
