Biography

The Hon. Poli Flores, Jr. is a judge for the Imperial County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Annie M. Gutierrez (Ret.).

He is a registered Democrat.

Judge Flores received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Flores had served as a court commissioner for Imperial County since 2006.

Before becoming a court commissioner, Flores had served as a sole practitioner for twenty years beginning in 1986.

He was a deputy public defender for the Imperial County Public Defender's Office for three years before going into solo practice. He joined the Public Defender's Office after serving briefly as an associate at the law firm Cardenas and Fifield.

During his time on the bench, Judge Flores has presided over a criminal calendar.
