Biography

The Hon. Philip L. Soto is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He was originally appointed to the Municipal Court by former Governor Pete Wilson in 1998. He filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Peter Espinoza to the Superior Court.

Judge Soto graduated with his B.A. in international relations from Stanford University in 1981. He went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1986.

Prior to his appointment to the Municipal Court, Soto served as a senior associate for the law firm of Manning, Marder, and Wolfe.
