The Hon. Peter B. Twede (Ret.) was a judge for the Glenn County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Angus Saint-Evens (Ret.). Twede retired from the bench in June 2018.
He was registered as a Republican.
Twede received his B.A. from the University of San Francisco in 1972. He went on to earn his J.D. from Lincoln University School of Law in 1976.
Before joining the court, Twede worked as a sole practitioner from 1976 to 1997.
In 1997, Twede was selected to serve as a court commissioner. During his tenure in that position, he served with the Colusa, Glenn, Tehama, and Plumas County Superior Courts.
His memberships included the California Judges Association, the California Commissioners Association, the Glenn County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He was also a member of the Willows Elks Lodge and the past-president of the Orland Exchange Club and the Glenn County Heart Association.
He received the Judicial Officer of the Year Award in 2004.
After retiring, Twede hoped to continue serving as a visiting judge for other courts.
