Biography

The Hon. Percy Anderson is a United States District Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division. He was nominated by President George W. Bush in January 2002 and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in April 2002. At the time of his confirmation, he filled the seat vacated by the Hon. Kim McLane Wardlaw upon her elevation to the Court of Appeal.

Judge Anderson received his A.B. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1970. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.

Anderson began his legal career as a directing attorney at San Fernando Valley Neighborhood Legal Services Inc. in 1975. Three years later, he became a consultant at Legal Services Corporation.

Then, in 1979, Anderson joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, where he served as an assistant U.S. Attorney until 1985.

It was at that time that Anderson entered into private practice. He practiced as a partner at Bryan Cave from 1985 to 1996. At the time of his appointment to the District Court, Anderson was practicing at the law firm Sonnenschein, Nath, and Rosenthal.
