Biography

Hon. Paul E. Cherry is a judge for the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench in 2003 and was retained in 2013.


Cherry received a bachelor’s degree from Gannon University. He went on to complete a J.D. at Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson Law.


Prior to joining the judiciary, Cherry was the District Attorney in Clearfield County, a position he had held for nine years. In addition, he worked for six years as a county public defender.


He is a lifelong resident of DuBois and a graduate of DuBois Central Christian High School. Cherry is the son of the Hon. John A. Cherry (deceased), who also sat as a judge in Clearfield County, and the brother of the Hon. John F. Cherry, judge of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas.
