Biography

The Hon. Patrick M. Broderick is a judge for the Superior Court of Sonoma County in California. He was elected to the bench in November 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Elaine Rushing.

Broderick earned a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University. He then completed a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1987.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Broderick was the longest-serving dean of Empire College School of Law. Before that, he was a partner at O’Brien, Watters & Davis, where he handled construction defect, business, wrongful death, real property, and personal injury matters. Earlier in his legal career, he clerked for Sen. Noreen Evans of the California State Senate.

Broderick has taught political science at Santa Rosa Junior College.

He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, California.

He is recognized as a talented singer.
