The Hon. Pamela P. King is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown in December 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Margaret A. Powers.
King earned a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Redlands in 1972. She then completed a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1977.
She began her legal career in 1978. She first worked as an attorney in the Law Offices of King and King until 1979. She then joined the Law Office of Herbert Hafif, where she practiced as an attorney from 1981 to 1982.
King left the private sector in 1982, briefly working as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County.
Two years later, she returned to private practice. She accepted a position with the Law Office of Markman, Arczyski, Hanson, Curly and Slough, where she practiced for the next eight years.
Then, in 1998, she joined the Office of the Public Defender of San Bernardino County as a deputy public defender. She held this position until her appointment.
King was a resident of Rancho Cucamonga at the time of her appointment. Her husband, the Hon. Jeffrey King, has served as a justice for the Fourth District Court of Appeals.
