The Hon. Norman J. Shapiro is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Pete Wilson in 1995. He filled the vacancy created by the Hon. John Zebrowski's appointment to the Court of Appeal.
Judge Shapiro received his B.A. from the University of California in 1965. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of San Fernando Valley Law School in 1969.
After graduating from law school, Shapiro joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office where he served as a deputy district attorney beginning in 1970.
He served as a prosecutor for the D.A.'s office for 25 years and remained in that capacity until his appointment to the Superior Court in 1995.
