The Honorable Monique S. Langhorne

Biography

The Hon. Monique S. Langhorne is a judge for the Napa County Superior Court in California. Langhorne was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in November 2018, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Rodney G. Stone. She has held assignments in the Civil Division and the Appellate Division.

Langhorne earned a B.A. in rhetoric and African American studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996. She spent the next several years as a staff intern for the Napa County Department of Child Support Services. Then, in 1999, she completed a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

After graduating from law school, Langhorne began her legal career as a family support officer for the Napa County Department of Child Support Services in 1999. The following year, she moved to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as a deputy district attorney until 2006. At that time, she was named commissioner for the Napa County Superior Court.

Langhorne was a resident of Vallejo at the time of her appointment to the bench.

She is registered as a Democrat.
