Biography

The Hon. Miriam M. Breier is a supervising judge for the Civil Court of the City of New York, Housing Court in Bronx County in the Twelfth Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to the position by the Hon. Lawrence K. Marks, Chief Administrative Judge of the State of New York in 2016. Judge Breier was originally appointed to the Bronx County Housing Court in 2014 by the Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, former Chief Administrative Judge.

She received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1978. She went on to earn her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1982.

Prior to her judicial career, Breier served as an attorney at Breier Deutschmeister Urban Popper Law Group for thirty-one years. During her time there, she practiced landlord-tenant litigation as well as handled real estate transactions, contracts, leases, and issues involving co-ops and condos.
