The Hon. Miriam I. Morton is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Paul M. Bryant.
Morton earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She then completed a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
She began her legal career as an attorney with the Law Offices of Robert J. O’Connor in 1994. Four years later, she left the firm and started her own private practice. She handled cases as a sole practitioner for the next eight years, punctuated by a short stint with the Law Offices of Alvarenga & Drake in 2004.
Then, in 2006, she joined Kurtzman Carson Consultants as general counsel. She supplemented this work with a part-time position at the Superior Court of San Bernardino County as a juvenile court officer.
Morton is registered as a Democrat.
