The Hon. Michelle H. Gilleece is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown on November 2, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Brian Saunders (deceased).
Gilleece earned a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College. She then completed a J.D. from Tulane University Law School.
She began her legal career as an associate at Platt & Buescher in 1996. She left the firm four years later, accepting a position as the assistant director of the International Place of The Claremont Colleges. Then, in 2003, she joined the Office of the Mayor of Riverside, where she served as an assistant to the mayor for one year.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Gilleece was a partner at Friedman & Gilleece from 2004 to 2017. She briefly left the firm in 2012, serving a year-long stint as a partner at the Law Offices of Gilleece, Pico and Stockdale.
Gilleece has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne, College of Law.
She was a resident of Riverside, California at the time of her appointment.
Gilleece is registered as a Democrat.
