The Hon. Michael W. Miller is a judge for the Middletown Probate Court in Newport County, Rhode Island. He was appointed to the bench by the Middletown Town Council in 1994.
In addition to his judicial service, Miller is a partner at Miller Scott Holbrook & Jackson, a law firm he joined in 1991. During his tenure there, he has specialized in residential and commercial real estate matters. He has also served as assistant town solicitor (1980 to 1982) and town solicitor (1986 to 2002, 2008 to 2014) for the Town of Middletown.
Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in education and political science from the University of Rhode Island in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at Fordham University School of Law in 1977.
His memberships have included the Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association, the Advisory Council of the Chicago Title Insurance Company, the Rhode Island Bar Association, and the Newport County Board of Realtors. He has also served as the Director of the Newport County Mental Health Center and a Delegate to the Rhode Island Constitutional Convention.
When not presiding over legal matters, Miller is a fine art photographer, capturing landscapes, seascapes, boats, and surfing.
