The Hon. Michael P. Vicencia is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2002 by former Governor Gray Davis.
Judge Vicencia received his bachelor's degree in political science from California State University, Fullerton. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, Vicencia was an attorney for the Long Beach law firm of Prindle, Decker, and Amaro.
During his time on the bench, Vicencia served as a supervising judge for the South District, and in 2009 was elected to serve a one-year term as president of the California Judges Association.
Judge Vicencia has also taught the new judge orientation program for the Center for Judicial Education and Research.
His memberships have included serving as president for the Long Beach Legal Aid Foundation and the Benjamin Aranda Inn of Court.
