Virga was named 2016 Judge of the Year by the Sacramento County ABOTA, the 2005 Judge of the Year by the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Associaton, and the 2004 Judge of the Year by the Sacramento Bar Association.

After retiring from the Superior Court, Virga became a neutral at the Judicate Wests' Sacramento Dispute Resolution Center.
