Hon. Melissa Zabor is a commissioner for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She joined the bench in 2018.
During her tenure as a commissioner, Zabor has held an assignment in the Criminal Department.
Prior to joining the bench, she spent nine years as an attorney supervisor with the Maricopa County Office of the Legal Advocate (2008 to 2017).
During that same time, Zabor taught business law as an adjunct faculty member at Chandler Gilbert Community College (2012 to 2017).
Over the course of her legal career, she also engaged in private practice. Zabor was an attorney at Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, PLLC (2007 to 2008) and the Oracle Law Group (2006 to 2007).
She received a B.S. in psychology from the University of Arizona in 2001. Zabor went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 2004. While a law student, she served as a law clerk with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office (2002), a judicial law clerk to the United States Federal District Court (2002), and a law clerk with the Pima County Attorney’s Office (2003 to 2004).
After graduating from law school, Zabor began her legal career as an attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (2004 to 2006).
She was a past president of the Maricopa Chapter of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association and sat on the Board of Directors of the Maricopa County Bar Association.
