The Hon. Mary Kreber Varipapa is a judge on the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former governor Jerry Brown on November 17, 2015, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Ronald P. Kreber.
Kreber Varipapa received a B.A. from California State University, Long Beach and a J.D. from Western State University College of Law.
She began her legal career as an attorney for the Public Defender Juvenile Court Office in 1996. Two years later, she joined the Office of the Public Defender of Orange County as a deputy public defender. Here, she represented clients through the Drug and Mental Health Courts, gaining an intimate understanding of the mental health system.
Kreber Varipapa has also worked as an adjunct professor in the Criminology Department of the University of Phoenix.
Kreber Varipapa was born and raised in Orange County. She is the daughter of retired judge Ronald P. Kreber. She is married to Mike Varipapa, former Mayor Pro Tem for Seal Beach, California. They have three children.
