The Honorable Mark V. Bacciarini

The Hon. Mark V. Bacciarini is a judge for the Superior Court of Merced County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in June 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Frank Dougherty.

Bacciarini earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of the Pacific. After graduating from university, he spent the next sixteen years working as a high school music teacher in Manteca, Merced, and Clovis. He would eventually continue his studies, completing a J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law in 1998.

He began his legal career as an associate at Morse, Morse & Morse in 1998.

Two years later, he left the private sector and joined the Office of the District Attorney of Merced County as a deputy district attorney. During his ten-year tenure there, he rose through the ranks, becoming a chief deputy district attorney in 2009. He held that position until his appointment to the bench.

Born and raised in Merced, California, Bacciarini attended Merced High School. He enjoys playing a number of different brass instruments in his spare time.

Bacciarini is registered as a Republican.
