Biography

The Hon. Mark H. Woerner is a judge for the Nueces County Court at Law No. 4 in Texas. He was elected to the bench in 2014 and re-elected in 2018.
Prior to his election, Woerner worked as a defense attorney in his own private practice. Before that, he served as a judge advocate for the United States Navy Judge Advocate Generals Corps until 1985.
Woerner earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany. Then, in 1979, he completed a J.D. at Vanderbilt University Law School. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law (1989) by the Texas Board Legal Specialization.
When not presiding over the bench, Woerner enjoys collecting game trophies from African safaris, some of which include a lion and a zebra. He is a member of the Texas Riviera Pistoleros.
He is registered as a Republican.
