Hon. Mark H. Brain is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jan Brewer in March 2011, filling the vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Pendleton Gaines (deceased).
During his judicial tenure, Brain has held assignments in the Juvenile, Civil, Criminal, and Family Courts.
Prior to his appointment, he presided for five years as a commissioner for the Superior Court in Maricopa County (2006 to 2011). Before that, Brain worked in the private sector. During that time, he was an attorney at Peshkin & Kotalik (2002 to 2006) and Fennemore Craig (1988 to 2002).
He received a B.S. in physics from Iowa State University in 1985. Brain went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School in 1988.
