The Hon. Marina E. Ammendola is a Circuit Judge for the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County. She was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kevin M. Sheehan. Judge Ammendola is currently assigned to the Domestic Violence Division.
Ammendola earned a B.A. from Rosary College in 1982 and spent the next several years working as a school teacher. She completed her J.D. at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law, in 1989 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar the same year.
After graduating from law school, Ammendola went into private practice. She worked as an attorney for Patricia C. Bobb & Associates until 2001, at which time she started her own private practice. Ammendola worked as a sole practitioner and served as a Guardian ad Litem until her appointment. She is widely known for her representation of Ald. Ed Burke and his wife, the Hon. Anne M. Burke, in the ‘Baby T’ custody case.
She is a registered Democrat.
