Biography

The Hon. Linda S. Marks is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former governor Gray Davis on August 7, 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David Brickner.

Marks earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied English and film. She then received a J.D. from Southwestern University.

Marks began her legal career in 1985. She served as a deputy public defender for the Office of the Public Defender of Los Angeles County until 1989. She then joined Early, Baruch & Marks as a civil trial attorney, spending a year there before becoming a senior managing partner at Marks & Yocum. Then, in 2002, she briefly worked as an attorney in her own private practice affiliated with Judicate West.

She has worked as an adjunct professor at Western State College of Law, teaching alternative dispute resolution.
