Judge Linda Marquis - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Linda Marquis is a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She assumed the bench in 2015 and retained the seat in 2020.

Marquis received a J.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law in 2003.

After law school, Marquis clerked with William B. Terry, Chtd., and continued on as an attorney with the firm after completing her clerkship in 2003. She remained in that capacity until 2010. Her practice focused on criminal law in matters pertaining to juvenile, abuse, and neglect.

In 2011, Marquis became an alternate judge of the Las Vegas Municipal Court and, in 2013, began serving as a presiding officer of the Clark County Police Fatality Review Board.

Prior to joining the bench, she practiced family law alongside her husband. She also served as a justice of the peace pro tem with the Las Vegas Justice Court and the North Las Vegas Justice Court.

Marquis was a past-president of the Boyd School of Law Alumni Association.
