Judge Leticia J. Marques - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Leticia J. Marques is a judge for the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was elected to the bench in 2012 and re-elected in 2018.

The 9th Judicial Circuit encompasses Osceola County and Orange County. Marques has held assignments in both counties, presiding over cases in the Unified Family Court (Osceola), the Criminal Division, and the Probate, Guardianship, and Mental Health Division. She has also served as an associate administrative judge and an administrative judge for the Criminal Division.

Prior to her election, Marques worked as a sole practitioner in her own private practice, a law firm she opened in 2001. Before that, she spent time as an associate at Dellecker, Wilson & King (1992 to 2000) and the Draper Law Offices (1983 to 1992).

Marques earned a B.A. in political science from Loyola University (New Orleans) in 1980. She then completed a J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center in 1983.

Her memberships have included the Orange County Bar Association, the Osceola County Bar Association, the Central Florida Women Lawyers Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida.

Marques is fluent in both English and Spanish.
