The Hon. Laura F. Priver is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was elected to the bench in November of 2004. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Nancy Brown.
She is a registered Republican.
Judge Priver received her bachelor's degree from Indiana University. She went on to earn her J.D. from Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California.
After graduating from law school, Priver began her legal career at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office where she served as a deputy district attorney starting in 1984.
During her 20 years as a prosecutor for the D.A.'s office, Priver served on their Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Division as well as their Anti-Truancy Division. She was also named deputy-in-charge for three separate juvenile offices.
At the time of her election to the bench in 2004, Priver was serving as the Criminal Grand Jury Legal Advisor for the District Attorney's Office.
