The Hon. Lance G. Jacot is a judge for the San Joaquin County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2019. His appointment came in response to a newly created position on the court.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Jacot received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1996. He went on to earn a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
While attending law school, he served an internship at the San Francisco County Public Defender’s Office and the Office of the State Public Defender.
Prior to his judgeship, Jacot had briefly served as a deputy public defender in San Joaquin County beginning in 2019. He first joined the San Joaquin County Public Defender’s Office in 1999 and worked as a deputy public defender there until entering into solo practice in 2010.
Jacot remained in solo practice until rejoining the Public Defender’s Office in 2019.
He has been a member of the American Society of Legal Advocates.
While on the Superior Court, Judge Jacot has presided in the Family Law Division.
He was born in Newport Beach, California.
