Hon. Kyle D. Mott is a judge for the Chelan County District Court in Washington. He was elected to the bench in 2018 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Nancy Harmon (Ret.).
At the time of his election, Mott was working as a public defender at the Counsel for Defense of Chelan County, a position he had held since 2016.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Gonzaga University. Mott then completed a J.D. at Chapman University School of Law. While in law school, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Chapman Law Review.
Prior to becoming a public defender, he worked for one year as a senior law clerk in the Chelan County Superior Court (2015 to 2016). His legal career also included practicing as an associate at the Wenatchee law firms of Ogden Murphy Wallace, PLLC (2014 to 2015) and Lacy Kane, P.S. (2013), where he started as a law clerk.
In 2013, Mott also worked as a legal extern to the Hon. Andrew Guilford, judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
He was a past chair of the Washington State Bar Association Trial Advocacy Program and a board member and treasurer of Chelan-Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services. His civic involvement included the Washington Apple Blossom Festival and the East Wenatchee City Planning Commission (commissioner).
Mott graduated from Eastmont High School. He and his wife, Morgan, resided in Wenatchee at the time of his election.
