The Hon. Kristine A. Eagle is a judge for the San Joaquin County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2015. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Bobby W. McNatt (Ret.).
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Eagle graduated with her B.A. in political science from the University of California, San Diego in 1986. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1989.
After graduating from law school, Eagle became a deputy public defender with the San Joaquin County Public Defender's Office, where she practiced for thirteen years.
She left the public sector in 2002 to open her own private practice, where she served as a criminal defense attorney in adult and juvenile cases.
Eagle also served as a judge pro tem for the Small Claims and Traffic Courts at the Stockton, Manteca, and Tracy Courthouses.
She was selected to serve as a court commissioner for the San Joaquin County Superior Court in 2015. Later that same year, Eagle was then elevated to the bench.
While on the bench, Judge Eagle has presided in the Criminal Division and the Drug Court.
Her memberships have included the Bar Board of Governors and the past-president of the San Joaquin County Bar Association.
Her professional committees have included the Court Assigned Counsel Committee, the Judicial Liaison Committee, the Criminal Peer Review Committee, and the Lawyer Referral Service Committee.
She has also taught criminal law and collaborative courts as an adjunct professor at Humphreys University Drivon School of Law.
