The Hon. Kimberley Baker Guillemet is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench in 2018 by former governor Jerry Brown. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David L. Minning (Ret.).
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Guillemet received her B.A. from Stanford University. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2005.
After graduating from law school, Guillemet became an attorney at the nonprofit Disability Rights California, the largest disability rights group in the nation. While there, Guillemet represented at-risk, indigent minority youths.
Three years later, she joined the California Department of Justice's Office of the Attorney General where she served as a deputy attorney general from 2008 to 2015. During her seven years there, Guillemet served in the A.G.'s Recidivism Reduction and ReEntry Division and also practiced consumer protection and criminal appellate law.
Then, in 2015, she would become the director and manager of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's Office of Reentry. A program established in 2015 and backed by Prop 47 grant funding, that sought to provide comprehensive reentry programs for individuals with a criminal past.
