Biography

The Hon. Kim Hernandez Brennan is a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Hillsborough County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2014.


Prior to her appointment, Brennan worked as a shareholder at Gray Robinson and Cohn, Cohn & Hendrix. Before that, she was an associate at Rahdert, Anderson, McGowan & Steele.


Brennan earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Florida in 1985. She spent the next few years working as an auditor at Hacker, Johnson, Cohen & Grieb as well as an audit supervisor at Barnett Banks. Brennan then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 1997.


Her memberships have included the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Association of Women Lawyers, the Jesuit Bar Association, the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, the Tampa Bay American Inn of Court, and the Ferguson White American Inn of Court. She has also been involved with the Ybor City Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club of Tampa.


Brennan attends St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
