The Hon. Kevin F. Robbins is a judge for the 36th District Court of Michigan. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Engler in 2002.
Prior to his appointment, Robbins was assistant general counsel for the Detroit Public Schools Community District, a position to which he was named in 2001.
Robbins earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan. He then completed a J.D. at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
After graduating from law school, Robbins began his legal career as assistant corporation counsel for the City of Detroit. He served in that capacity until 1989, at which time he became a public liability attorney for the Kmart Corporation.
He is a recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award from Operation ReachBack (2002).
Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Robbins attended Cass Technical High School. He was raised in a legal environment, with both his father and his grandfather working as attorneys. When not handling legal matters, he has mentored the Anointed Men of God Male Responsibility Program.
