Judge Kevin D. White: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Kevin D. White is the associate presiding judge for the Pinal County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Janet Napolitano in January 2005.

Prior to his appointment, White had presided as the Family Law commissioner and a full-time judge pro tempore of the Pinal County Superior Court since receiving an appointment to the positions by the Hon. William O’Neil in May 2002. Before joining the judiciary, he had worked as a city attorney and city prosecutor for the City of Casa Grande.

White also spent time in private practice in the Fitzgibbons Law Offices.

He received a B.A. in political science from West Virginia University in 1985. He attended university on a football scholarship, having played quarterback for the Mountaineers. White then spent time as an intern for Senator John D. Rockefeller in Washington, D.C., before completing a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1989.

After graduating from law school, he began his legal career with the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office before eventually relocating to Pinal County.

His memberships have included the State Bar of Arizona and the Pinal County Bar Association.

From a civic standpoint, White has served as a Casa Grande High School varsity football coach (volunteer) and was involved with the Kiwanis Club of Casa Grande, the Sunrise Optimist Club (board member), and Couger Football, Inc. (board member). In addition, he was selected in 1993 to serve on a Rotary Club Group Study Exchange Team during a five-week goodwill trip to India.

White, who was born and raised in Pinal County, is married and has three children. He is a graduate of Casa Grande Union High School (1981).
